The Brecon & Merthyr 36 Class were built by Messr Stevenson's to the same design as the Rhymeny Rly 'R' Class - the only difference being the B&M locos had round topped fireboxes.
The first batch consisted of 4 engines, with delivery -n 1909-10 (BM Nos 36-39). Having proved themselves a further batch of 4 were ordered in 1913 and numbered (BMR Nos 40 - 43). As usual after grouping the GWR tinkered with diferent aspect i.e. safety Valve bonnet.
in 1922 4 of the class made their way to Swindon and received various Modifications - std Boilers, GWR style bunkers, etc. The modeller is recommended to find a picture of a particular and model that. Information is available at Brecon & Merthyr 45 Class Instructions
To keep the cost to a minimum all the neccessary parts for any version are provided on the etched sheets.
This is a multimedia kit with sprung suspension etched in Nickel Silver or Brass with printed or cast brass parts. As per normal wheels, motor/gearbox, paint and transfers required to finish.
